Inspiring Pupils find ways to raise funds

When we heard that pupils from St Thomas More Primary School had taken it upon themselves to raise funds for Mission Together, we were keen to pass on our thanks. And so, on Thursday 8 December, we paid a visit to the school to meet this Class 4 team of inspiring supporters.

The children explained how they set up a stall at a recent school disco selling sweets and toys. They planned for funds raised to be shared with charities supporting those living in poverty. One of the pupils’ chosen charities was Mission Together.

We were delighted to get the chance to visit the school and thank the children in person. The pupils learned the difference their support makes: how through the prayers and generosity of young people on every continent, Mission Together helps children living in poverty around the world. They learned too, that by working together with others we can achieve so much good, even if our part in God’s plan seems small.

The visit ended with presentation of certificates and a few Mission Together goodies for the pupils and school. Proud mum Helen explained, ‘We are really proud of the children’s initiative and enthusiasm. Thank you for letting them know how the money will help. I know they will be delighted and it will really cement their reasons for giving.’
