Under its original name of Holy Childhood, Mission Together has been active in England and Wales since 1853. Over that time Mission Together has crafted resources to meet the changing needs of our Catholic schools and parishes. Today we create materials that aim to:
- Celebrate the diversity of the Universal Catholic Church.
- Promote Gospel values of justice, mercy, hope, welcome, solidarity, joy and love.
- Put Jesus at the centre of our child-friendly resources; encouraging us all to follow his example in our schools, our communities and around the world.
- Develop understanding that we are each called to be missionaries of God’s love, to all people and in all places.
Each year Mission Together focuses attention on one of its many worldwide projects. In 2017-18 Together in Sri Lanka focuses on Ajay, a young boy born and living on a tea plantation in South West Sri Lanka, a region affected by poverty and monsoons. We provide downloadable resources to help children to identify with Ajay and learn about the world he lives in, appreciate that we are all children of God and identify how we can bring about change.
See the Teachers’ Resources page for more information on our Together in Sri Lanka project.
Resources from previous overseas projects are available to download via Our work Overseas.
In the Teachers’ Resources pages you can also find Mission Together provide inclusive and interactive assemblies, liturgies and activities to accompany Advent, Lent, Pentecost, and various liturgical feasts within the school year. We also supply assemblies to accompany St Therese of Lisuex’s Little Way Week and to raise awareness of the Rosary as a global prayer aid.
Throughout England and Wales, Mission Together volunteers are available to visit schools and deliver free assemblies and workshops. To request your free assembly, simply use our online order form or call 020 7821 9755.
The Mission Together Prayer, below, is available to order as a colourful A2 poster.
May all children. In the world. Share love. Share friendship and live. In the peace. Of God’s love. Now and forever. Amen.
