Information for Parents

If you’re here, it’s likely you’ve been asked by your child’s school to support Mission Together. So firstly, thank you! Still, you might be uncertain who we are and what we do. If so, we hope these pointers help.

Children helping children

Mission Together is the children’s branch of Missio – the Catholic Church’s official charity for mission For over 185 years, Mission Together (known internationally as Holy Childhood) has helped young people around the world to grow in love of Christ and love of neighbour. Mission Together’s aim is twofold: to support essential children’s projects in places of poverty and turmoil, and to support the mission of Catholic education.

Supporting mission overseas

Thanks to the prayers and donations of pupils in England and Wales, each year Mission Together supports around 20,000 children living in poverty and turmoil around the world – regardless of their background or belief. This support is provided through our funding of feeding programmes, educational provision, medical assistance, residential care, pastoral and spiritual care. In such ways we make God’s love known to everyone, everywhere. Watch the film below to find out more.

Supporting mission at home

Every child’s personal and spiritual development matters to us. So as well as supporting children’s projects overseas, Mission Together also creates free educational resources that support the mission and ethos of Catholic schools here at home. All our school resources seek to help children recognise their place in God’s global family; working in solidarity for the benefit of all, but with a special concern for those living in poverty.

Our resources relay the teachings of the Catholic faith in accessible and engaging ways; they support global learning, Catholic Social Teaching, and are informed by the Catholic Schools Inspection Framework, Religious Education Directory, Prayer and Liturgy Directory, RE Advisors, teachers, and chaplains.
