Pentecost

‘These materials have really developed my teaching and learning in R.E.’

Slides from our ‘Story of Pentecost’ assembly

The feast of Pentecost is celebrated 50 days after Easter Sunday. It commemorates the occasion on which the Holy Spirit descended upon the apostles, encouraging and inspiring them to share the message of Christ with all people, everywhere. For this reason Pentecost is sometimes referred to as the birthday of the Church.

Each year Mission Together creates Pentecost resources to help children understand this important Church feast day. You can download our Pentecost resources below, which include a PowerPoint retelling of the Pentecost story, a Pentecost Liturgy with activities, and a new assembly about the patron saints of the continents.

If you like our Pentecost materials we’d encourage you to view our Day of Many Colours resources. The Day of Many Colours also takes place within the summer term and is Mission Together’s annual fundraising event – encouraging schools across the country to celebrate the cultural diversity of our global Church through prayer, activities, and fundraising suggestions.
