Starting 2024 with a celebration of Mission – Together

Our first Mission Together Mass of 2024 took place on the Feast of the Conversion of St Paul, at St Theodore’s Church, Hampton.

Arranged with the help of Fr Philip Baptiste, Mission Together’s Diocesan Director in Westminster, this wonderful Mass brought together over 120 pupils from nine Catholic schools and was a beautiful celebration of faith, friendship, and global Church family.

Headteacher, Mrs Carmel Moreland from St Edmund’s Catholic Primary School, shared later:

‘Yesterday’s Mass was really beautiful – we thoroughly enjoyed it. We are really pleased we came – it was a wonderful celebration; bringing the children together – thank you.’

Missio Local Secretaries from attending school parishes were also invited to the Mass, two of whom – Miss Jennifer Collier-Gibbs and Miss Rossyln Collier Gibbs of St Theodore’s Parish – were presented with a long service medal by Missio’s National Director Fr Tony Chantry.

Fr Philip and the Mission Together team are so grateful to everyone involved in making this such a special event! We hope to replicate these deanery focused Mission Together Masses across Westminster diocese.

More about Mission Together

For over 180 years, Missio’s children’s branch, Mission Together has helped children around the world to grow in love of Christ and love of neighbour. In England and Wales, Mission Together’s aim is twofold: to support essential children’s projects in places of poverty and turmoil, and to support the mission of Catholic education through the creation of free catechetical classroom resources. Our resources are freely available to download, and align with Catholic Social Teaching, relaying the teachings and practices of the Catholic faith in accessible and engaging ways.
