A legacy and a lifeline
For our 2010-11 campaign we visited the remote island of Natandol in the Philippines and found out all about Evangeline (pictured) and her friends. Natandol is a beautiful place but life there can be hard. There is no electricity or running water on the island and food is limited.
Evangeline goes to the island school which has just one classroom and one teacher, so the children have their lessons in shifts. The school runs a feeding programme for the children so that they can at least be sure of one meal a day.
Incredibly, Mrs Maricho the class teacher was a member of Mission Together (Holy Childhood) when she was a little girl and it was its message of ‘children helping children’ which inspired her to leave her home in Manilla to help children on Natandol.
Mission Together is supporting feeding programmes like this in the Philippines and around the world, reaching out to children in desperate need and helping to build sustainable solutions.

Although the focus for this year’s materials is on another country, children’s projects in the Philippines are still being supported by Mission Together. Please continue to pray and fundraise to support this life-giving work, helping children around the world.
