Year of the Word
Wednesday Word provides a great and easy way for schools to engage with The Year of the Word. The Wednesday Word is a colourful and accessible double-sided leaflet which carries the Sunday Gospel into pupil’s homes every week. Its mission is to help children and their families to draw closer to God, each other, school and Church.
Subscribing schools provide pupils with a Wednesday Word leaflet which they are then asked to take home and read with the rest of the family. Fun and engaging activities are included to help children and parents unpack the Gospel further, together.
Wednesday Word is designed to act as a regular invitation to the Eucharist throughout the time that the family is connected to the life of the school. It particularly seeks to reach parents who cannot take their children to church regularly nor read the Bible together.
